Cobble Creek Kitchen

2 cups flour

½ teaspoon salt

½ cup of shortening

1 cup of sugar

½ cup of milk

½ teaspoon soda

½ cup of cocoa

1 teaspoon vanilla

1 egg

20 marshmallows
   

Stir together flour, soda, salt and cocoa in a separate bowl.  Cream together sugar, shortening and vanilla.  Blend in eggs.  Add dry Ingredients and mix.  Drop with a spoon onto greased cookie sheet.  Bake at 350˚ for 8-10 minutes. Remove from oven and place ½ of a marshmallow on top of each cookie. Return cookies to oven and cook for 1 minute more.  Cool and drop or drizzle frosting on top.




Chocolate Frosting

1 ½ cup of powdered sugar

2 tablespoons cocoa

dash of salt

3 tablespoons milk

1 tablespoons butter

1 tablespoon shortening
   

Stir together dry ingredients.  Cut in shortening.  Melt butter and add milk.  Add to dry ingredients.  Should make a soft icing.
